Board gives first read to several policy updates, schedules second reading for December

Superintendent Krista Nieraeth provided the board with a brief overview of proposed policy changes at the Nov. 12 meeting and noted the reasons for the recommended edits. The policies presented for first reading included BBB (Board Elections), BBBA (Board Member Qualifications), BBD (Board Member Removal from Office), BBE (Vacancies on the Board), DN (Disposal of District Property), IICA (Field Trips and Special Events), and IICAA (Trips).
"Ms. Nieraeth gave a brief overview of the policies that are being changed and the reasons for the need to make changes," the minutes state. Board members did not raise questions or comments during the first reading. Nieraeth said she will make the recommended changes and place the policies on the December agenda for a second reading and a final vote.
