Board approves hires for counselor and PE teacher, accepts kitchen manager resignation

At its Oct. 20 meeting the Port Orford-Langlois School Board approved a consent agenda that included personnel actions and the Sept. 15, 2025 meeting minutes.
The board approved the hire of Pamela (Pam) Dickson as a school counselor and Phoebe Skinner as a physical education teacher. The board also accepted the resignation of Lauriel Wentling from the Head Cook/Kitchen Manager position. The motion to approve the consent agenda was offered by Carol Hacherl and seconded by Angel Ashdown and passed unanimously.
Board members did not raise additional questions during the consent vote. Trustees noted hires will support student mental-health services and the growing physical-education program.
