Director of Finance Devin Collins told the board the district’s current bond and the possibility of a new measure were the primary financial focus at the November meeting. “The current bond for the Ontario School District is 18.5 million, and it started in 2010 and ends in 2027,” Collins said, and he outlined outreach to Piper Sandler, potential matching funds and facility needs that a new bond could address.
Superintendent Nicole Albisu said administrators are monitoring grants and reserves while preparing contingency planning. “If the Board does want to look at going for a bond in 2027, we would have to file the paperwork by December 2026,” Albisu said. Board members asked for more detailed cost and project lists ahead of any formal decision and suggested discussing bond timing at a January work session.
