Board advances policy readings; multiple directors declare conflicts on BHD second reading

Board Attorney Wyatt Baum advised that redeclaring conflicts on second reading is permissible: "it does not hurt to declare conflict again for second reading of policy BHD." Multiple directors—Chair Bret Uptmor, Vice-Chair Abby Apodaca, Director Lisa Reeser and Director Jenna Mejia—declared conflicts for the second reading of policy BHD; the board then voted to approve the second reading. The board also approved second readings of policies IF and BBFA and approved the first reading of policies JFCEB and AC.
The record shows the motions were seconded and passed by roll call. The board did not attach conditions to the approvals in meeting remarks; staff will incorporate the adopted language into district policy manuals.
