Student rep: football, soccer and cross-country competed at state; school events continue

Aubrey Kelly, student representative from North Bend High School, told the board that "our football team qualified for state, but lost in the first round against Tillamook," that girls soccer lost in the first playoff round to Klamath Union, and that the cross-country team placed 2nd in the district and finished 8th overall at state with individual placings (Addison Horning 10th, Ellie Massey 12th, Angelo Pedrini 19th). Kelly also reported that winter-sport practices start Nov. 17 and that the schools will hold a dance showcase on Nov. 19.
The student report was informational and included activities from the Leadership class, Knowledge Bowl, drama productions and recent hosting of the 3A state volleyball tournament by North Bend High School. The board received the update during the communications portion of the agenda.
