Richardson ISD board denies three grievances following closed‑session hearings

The Richardson ISD Board of Trustees convened a called meeting Sept. 16, 2024, and held three closed‑session grievance hearings under board policy FNG(local) and Texas Government Code §551.074, the Chair said. The board announced reconvening into open session after each closed session and recorded votes denying each grievance.

The Chair stated that "no action was taken in closed session," and after each return to open session a board member moved that the board deny the grievance on the record. A Committee member moved, “I move that the board deny Ms. Petiri's grievance,” and the board recorded votes of 5–0, 5–0 and 4–0 on the three motions. For each grievance the Chair said the public vote would serve as notice of the board's decision and then concluded the grievance item; the meeting adjourned at 3:54 p.m.

All three hearings were conducted in closed session because the employees named in the grievances had not consented to open‑session consideration, the Chair said when announcing each item. The transcript records the grievants’ names as Ms. Mangela Beccieri, Ms. Manjula Bachiri and Ms. Vanjula Pachere; the transcript also contains inconsistent spellings of those surnames in later segments (see clarifying details).
