Superintendent Michelle Jensen told the board the district is organizing an Access & Opportunity Committee to serve as Pendleton School District’s equity committee under state law; volunteers and nominees are being gathered and the committee is expected to be fully operational before Fall 2026.
Jensen also reported that Pendleton SD is collaborating with the InterMountain Education Service District (IMESD) and La Grande School District to review model AI policy language, gather regional feedback and best practices, and then develop a PSD AI policy, implementation plan, and staff learning program. "Pendleton School District is collaborating with IMESD and La Grande School District," the minutes state, describing the next steps for policy development.
The update was informational; no policy vote or formal direction was recorded in the minutes.
