North Bend SD confirms executed sale of 10.10 acres on Viking Lane to BPA; Port Theater purchase abandoned

Superintendent Tim Crider told the board Jan. 8 that the district decided to step away from a potential Port Theater purchase after a higher counteroffer made the acquisition inconsistent with district financial priorities. He said the district received final paperwork on the sale of 10.10 acres on Viking Lane to the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) and, with the board chair's approval, the agreement has been executed.
Crider said district counsel will work with BPA on drafting construction and access/maintenance easements and that proceeds from the sale will provide additional capital improvement funding and support development of a trail on remaining land at North Bay Elementary School. The board did not take a formal vote on the sale at this meeting; the superintendent described the transaction as having been executed with chair approval.
