Board approves $500 grant for high-school weightlifting equipment

The Milton-Freewater Unified SD 7 board approved a $500 grant to purchase weightlifting equipment for the high school after staff recommended acceptance. Administration credited a high-school PE teacher who applied for the funding and said the money comes from educator-association grant programs.
"We have 1 grant this month, and it's for weightlifting equipment... it's a $500 grant for weightlifting equipment, from the Northwest Professional Educators and Association of American Educators," the staff member said during the meeting. The board moved and seconded the recommendation and the motion carried without recorded opposition.
