Board to respond to charter school's appeal; staff say contract requirements being met

Chair Blake Petersen reported receipt of letters from Gresham Arthur Academy (GAA) dated March 3, 2026 asking the board to intervene in a contract dispute related to the finance office’s informal audit. Board members said they had not seen the audit and preferred not to override staff processes. Superintendent Tracy Klinger said the district believes it is meeting statutory and contractual obligations and that any mid-cycle change to contract terms would require board action.
Board members were comfortable with the chair and superintendent drafting a response that would rely on the district’s staff review; Chair Petersen will prepare the letter with the board secretary. No change to the charter contract was made at this meeting.
