The resolution cites the 88th Texas Legislature (HB 3033) and Government Code section 552.0031 on the definition of "business day" and states, in part, "The Board determines that the District will designate the following days as 'nonbusiness days' for the purposes of the Public Information Act and the calendar year 2026:" followed by specific dates. The board listed January 2; March 9 and 10; November 24 and 25; and December 22, 23, 28, 29 and 30 as the designated nonbusiness days. The resolution authorizes the superintendent to undertake measures to implement the designation for public information request handling in 2026.
The approval instructs district staff to treat those dates as nonbusiness days when calculating response timelines under the Public Information Act, aligning records responses with the district'approved academic calendar.
