Student representatives, SkillsUSA team highlight fall activities and national results

ASB leaders and a SkillsUSA representative updated the board on fall events, the Oct. 2 community open house, homecoming plans and national competition placements; 18 students attended SkillsUSA nationals with multiple top‑25 finishes.
Student representatives from Silverton High School, Kai Holly and Maria Wacker, presented the student‑body calendar and invited the community to the high school open house on Oct. 2 and the homecoming parade Oct. 4. "We are super excited to start off this school year," Kai said.
Haley Meyer, representing SkillsUSA, summarized the team's national competition in Atlanta (June 23–29). She said 18 students represented Silverton and the school "was the only school from Oregon to have all of our skills in the top 90% for our competitors," noting two top‑5 finishes in career pathway competitions and other placements. The students and SkillsUSA group will be at the Oct. 2 open house and will present to the board on their experiences.
