The Reynolds School District Board of Education voted unanimously Dec. 17 to authorize staff to accept a Student Investment Account (SIA) grant from the Oregon Department of Education totaling $21,606,486.14.
"I move that the Board authorize staff to accept the Student Investment Account Grant from Oregon Department of Education in the total amount of $21,606,486.14," said Aaron Muñoz, who moved the motion; Patty Carrera seconded. The vote passed Yea: 6, Nay: 0. The board recorded the approval during the action-items portion of the meeting.
The board packet lists the SIA award under the 2025–27 / 2027–29 acceptance item. The board did not record a detailed breakdown of how the district will allocate the funds at this meeting; the motion authorized staff to accept the award and proceed with the next administrative steps. The district will incorporate the grant into its budget documents and follow Oregon Department of Education requirements for SIA reporting and use.
