Spearman ISD approves staff contract renewals, hires and coach contract extensions

After returning from closed session, the Spearman ISD Board approved renewal of professional certified employee contracts for the 2026–2027 school year as presented. The motion to extend contracts was made by Trustee Scott Sonnenberg and seconded by Trustee Abby Pipkin and passed 7-0.
The board approved a 10-month Non‑Chapter 21 contract for Macy Beedy to serve as the district Speech‑Language Pathologist for 2026–2027 (motion by Karla Flowers, seconded by Anne Marie Pearson; motion carried 7-0). Trustees extended Brandon Reagan’s dual-assignment contract (Certified Classroom Teacher/Head Football Coach/Boys Coordinator) through June 30, 2028 (motion by Rhett Renner, seconded by Scott Sonnenberg; motion carried 7-0). The board also moved to extend Jessica Slover’s dual-assignment contract as Certified Classroom Teacher/Head Girls Basketball Coach through June 30, 2028; that motion (moved by Abby Pipkin, seconded by Jay Tracy) carried 6-1. The board approved employment of Malcolm Carpenter on a 10-month dual-assignment probationary educator/coach contract for 2026–2027 (motion by Karla Flowers, seconded by Rhett Renner; motion carried 7-0).
