Spearman ISD trustees approve consent agenda, accept donations for athletics and speakers

The Spearman Independent School District Board of Trustees approved its consent agenda on March 23, 2026, clearing routine business including approval of minutes from the Feb. 9 meeting, ratification of bills, and year-to-date tax revenue and budget function compilations. The motion to approve the consent items was made by Trustee Scott Sonnenberg and seconded by Trustee Jay Tracy; the board approved the items on a 6-0 vote (Trustee Rhett Renner was not present for that vote).
The board also accepted several monetary donations for district programs: McGarraugh-Jackson Cattle donated $750 to the high school student council and Felipe & Nikki Lozano donated $100 for SHS powerlifting. Other contributions included $300 from First Baptist Church and two $200 donations from FUMC accounts toward a guest speaker. The board recorded the donations as part of the consent vote.
