Student representatives recap homecoming, say athletics off to a strong start

Student representatives from Silverton High School gave the board a brief report on homecoming activities and ongoing athletic seasons. The students thanked the community and the board for support and said the open house and dance were highly attended.
Kai Holly and Kate Alger provided sports updates: "Girls soccer has been battling hard with 7 wins and 1 tie so far this season," they said, noting an upcoming home game at McGinnis Field. They reported the girls soccer team is ranked No. 6 in OSAA 5A; the girls volleyball team placed first at a tournament in Oregon City and is ranked No. 9 in OSAA 5A; and the football team is 5-1 and ranked No. 1 in OSAA 5A. The students said clubs and ASB are preparing upcoming activities such as the Tree of Giving and that school social media and the district website remain primary communication channels.
Board members thanked the students for their presentation and applauded community participation during homecoming events.
