Board approves IMESD local service plan; OT/PT moved to contracted services

Board reviewed the IMESD local service plan for 2025–26 and approved a resolution to accept the plan. Clerk explained the only substantive change for Stanfield is that occupational therapy and physical therapy services will not be part of the local service plan and will be handled through contracted services, which could require additional district dollars for students who require those services under IEPs.
A board member asked whether the change could be costly; the Clerk said the district will explore a consultation model (for example, with Good Shepherd) to manage costs. The board moved and approved the resolution on a voice vote. "So any students that receive those services that are required as part of their IEP, we will have to pay additional dollars for those," the Clerk said.
