Presenter: Stanfield attendance rose in January; winter MAP results show fewer low-percentile readers

"So I was super excited that in January, our overall attendance rate went up, and we're almost in that 94%, which is better than it's been ever," the Presenter said. The presenter added that the district's share of students classified as ELL or SPED is higher than the state average and that those groups require continued focus.
Board members asked for follow‑up data, including counts of students receiving reading intervention and cohort information from kindergarten through graduation. The Presenter said she will provide a staff copy of the dataset on Jan. 21 and a redacted version the board may keep. The presenter also noted that many of the students in the lowest reading category are middle‑school aged and that reading interventions appear to be reducing far‑below readers as students progress through the grades.
