Board approves Brokamp & Jaeger as CM/GC to lead Silvercrest Elementary seismic work

The Silver Falls School Board voted to approve the recommended CM/GC award for seismic rehabilitation work at Silvercrest Elementary, accepting staff's recommendation to move forward with Brokamp & Jaeger.
Jeff Alderman, who presented the procurement review remotely, told the board the selection team received five proposals and graded them across eight categories, including fees, proposed approach and relevant project experience. "We received 5 proposals from CMGCs," Alderman said, "and at the end of the day, we all felt that Brokamp and Jaeger had the best proposal, the best fees, and the best set-up." He said the recommendation is to proceed to value engineering and the next contracting steps so the project can be completed during a planned 10-week break.
Board members asked to see the scoring worksheet before final contracting for transparency; staff posted the evaluation metrics to the board packet prior to the action item and said the spreadsheet can be requested by proposers. The superintendent and project team said the procurement follows the district's CM/GC process and that the engineering firm will coordinate next steps with the selected contractor. The motion to approve the award was moved and seconded and carried on a voice vote.
The selection is a procurement recommendation, not yet a final contract; staff explained that further cost proposals and value-engineering work will refine scope and fees before contract execution. Staff said they will provide the board with the scoring documentation and a timeline for the next procurement steps and anticipated design-to-construction milestones.
