Royse City ISD highlights safety response and alternative graduation pathways

Amy Anderson, superintendent of Royse City ISD, used the joint meeting to highlight district safety work and alternative programs that help students graduate. She said the district’s communications reached families swiftly during a recent false alarm: "Less than 30 minutes from notification of a false alarm, we were able to get information out to our community, to our parents, to our staff," Anderson said.
Anderson also described the H. H. Browning Achievement Center, an alternative program for students who need a different path to graduate. She said the center had already helped 31 students complete their credits and graduate and that mentors and volunteers from the community support the program.
District staff introduced key team members responsible for student services, academics, technology and safety, and said the district is separating some administrative functions to better serve students’ needs.
