Superintendent Mr. Duff updated the board on facilities work across the district and noted that construction of a barn at Ferris Ale advanced quickly over the prior days, with a flat pad, poles and a roof going up in quick succession. "Brian Woody is putting together a barn very quickly, and they are moving right along and haven't hit any issues so far," he said.
Mr. Duff also summarized grounds and maintenance work ahead of events such as the district track meet and junior-high track meet, and he announced Crystal Apple award recipients and a brief photo opportunity for any available board members. Named award recipients included Danny Gomez (lead secretary at MacKay), Cody King (social studies teacher, Central Middle School), Amanda Lane (PE teacher, Givelwanger) and Graciela Ramirez (paraprofessional, Ferndale). The superintendent said a grand opening will be scheduled for the barn when construction is finished.
No formal motions or votes were tied to the facilities update at the meeting; it was provided as an informational report to trustees.
