Child Welfare Board asks commissioners to maintain $11,500 budget to clothe children in care

She said the board awards different amounts by age, estimates about 38 children qualify this year and that average spending is roughly $300 per child.
"Currently, our budget is at $11,500, and we would like to request consideration for the same amount again for the upcoming budget year," Laura Chisholm said. Commissioners thanked the board for volunteer work and noted the request will be considered in the budgeting process.
