North Wasco County SD 21 accepts about $5.74 million in Student Investment Account funds

The North Wasco County School District 21 board unanimously approved the Student Investment Account agreement at its Dec. 18 meeting. Superintendent Dr. Carolyn Bernal described the SIA as part of Oregon’s Student Success Act and said the funds are intended for mental and behavioral health, academic achievement, and supports for marginalized students.
Dr. Bernal told the board NW "will receive approximately $5.74 million for the 2025–27 biennium," to be split between the two years. The motion to approve the 2025–2026 SIA Agreement was made by Chair Hege, seconded by Director Jones, and recorded as passing unanimously.
