Staff: enrollment declining; legislature may change IEP cap with funding trade-offs

Denise warned the committee the legislature is considering raising the cap on students counted above 11% for students on IEPs and said ‘‘there's a couple of different bills out there saying they're gonna raise that cap to 15%... it hasn't really lined out yet, but there will be a change in that.’’ Denise added that while a higher cap could increase the district's weighted count, without additional funding it would dilute the per-student revenue pool.
