Royse City ISD honors top-10 graduates, Top Dog students and teachers

Royse City ISD trustees spent a major portion of the meeting recognizing student and teacher achievements, including valedictorian and salutatorian honors and the district’s Top 10 graduates.
The presenter read each top-10 student’s name, GPA and postsecondary plans; for example, the presenter noted that Nathaniel has a 5.1 GPA and will attend the University of Texas at Dallas to study mechanical engineering. The Top Dog program, presented by the Royse City ISD Education Foundation, recognizes seniors and the influential educators they selected and culminates in a march banquet held on March 4.
Elizabeth Watson, who teaches future educators, announced district winners of Project Visualize and said several students will advance to national competition. She noted that Jose Maria Balderrama will represent Royse City High School in Portland, Oregon, at nationals.
The board also highlighted the district’s instructional leadership development: the Aspiring Principal Academy cohort and a DBU–RCISD leadership collaboration were recognized for developing internal leadership capacity.
