Bellflower Unified reports higher graduation rate and improved LCAP indicators; administrators detail data dashboard and supports

Bellflower Unified officials told the board that district metrics are improving and that new tools will help school sites monitor progress more dynamically.
"Our district's graduation rate climbed 4% this year, reaching 94 percent," Director Bonnie Carter reported, noting notable gains at Somerset High School and an increase in a‑g completion and CTE participation. Carter said the district also developed a dynamic LCAP dashboard to let principals sort survey results and review anecdotal comments, and that the district has increased classroom visits and interventions tied to data monitoring.
Board members asked for clarification on data timing (state dashboard and CAASPP reflect last year’s data while Aeries is current), the budget behind an enrollment advertising campaign and the allocation for summer tutoring and security contracts. Staff said summer tutoring (high‑dosage online tutors) will support summer academy and that public‑information work grew the district’s Instagram following as part of the enrollment campaign.
