Sheriff warns drivers: stop for buses with stop arms; do not pass flashing school buses

"Remember, when a school bus stops and extends its stop arm, those flashing amber and red lights mean you must stop and never under any circumstance pass a school bus with flashing lights," Milholland said, urging drivers to treat school buses with caution. Officials also asked parents who drop children off to plan ahead and allow extra travel time to prevent morning gridlock.
Both officials emphasized tolerance for new student drivers on the road and asked drivers to give them extra patience. The messages were framed as part of a broader community partnership to keep children safe from the moment they leave home until they return.
