Sweetwater ISD says CTE building on track for July 28 move-in; gym work to follow

District staff reported the CTE building should be ready for "move-in" the week of July 28, with a ribbon cutting planned in September; gym completion was estimated around Oct. 1 and staff raised drainage and paving needs at district facilities.
Mr. Reggy Spencer reported that the CTE building was on track to be completed by July 28 in order for "move-in" to begin that week. He told the board a ribbon cutting will be held later in September and that the gym completion will be closer to Oct. 1, with turf work following.
Spencer said he and members of the CTE building naming committee will travel to Lubbock Aug. 6 to meet with Mr. Davis regarding pledged equipment for the building. He told trustees he reviewed recent builder expenditures and asked that only practical, non-essential cosmetic upgrades be deferred to reduce district costs. Spencer also provided estimates for drainage work at the bus barn and for paving the softball field parking lot.
