Sunnyvale ISD certifies two unopposed trustee candidates and cancels May election

Linda Gooch moved to certify Brad Cravens and Dr. Pollye Hunter as unopposed; Kelleyton Wilson, Sr., seconded the certification. The board then approved a motion to cancel the election in accordance with Texas Election Code Section 2.052(a); the actions were approved 7–0.
The minutes state: "Motion made by Linda Gooch, seconded by Kelleyton Wilson, Sr., that the Sunnyvale Independent School District hereby cancels the trustee election scheduled to be held on May 2, 2026, in accordance with Section 2.052 (a) of the Texas Election Code. Brad Cravens and Dr. Pollye Hunter have been certified as unopposed and are hereby elected. Approved 7-0." The board recorded no requests for a recount or challenge in the public minutes.
