The Stanton ISD Board on Aug. 11, 2025 approved a series of routine and policy items, including the district’s 2025–26 compensation plan, a proposed tax rate for Truth in Taxation publication and several service contracts and policy updates.
Trustees voted unanimously (Yea: 6, Nay: 0; 1 absent) on a consent agenda that included the board minutes, the monthly finance report and budget amendments. The board later approved the compensation plan on a motion by Ramiro Reyes, seconded by Brandon Ireton, and adopted a proposed tax rate for Truth in Taxation publication on a motion by Mrs. Jana Cook, seconded by Ramiro Reyes. The board set Aug. 28, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. as the date for the public hearing on the 2025–26 budget and proposed tax rate.
District staff presented the certified property values and a bond analysis; Mr. Holland explained how changes in certified values affect revenue projections for the coming year. The board approved several operational contracts and policy updates, including a security guard service extension, an interlocal self‑insurance agreement and plumbing repairs through a TASB BuyBoard contract with LMC Corporation. The meeting included a closed session on personnel and real property matters and concluded with adjournment at 7:51 p.m.
