SBISD board approves consent agenda, separately OKs TASB fees and a Neuhaus Education Center gift

The board approved the consent agenda on Dec. 15 with the exception of two items pulled for separate votes; the initial motion to approve the consent agenda (with exclusions) was made by Vice President Caroline H. Bennett, seconded by Secretary Walker Agnew Jr., and passed 7–0.
Trustee Courtney Anderson asked whether alternatives to the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) exist before the board separately voted to approve the 2026 TASB annual membership fee (Item 10E); the board approved Item 10E by a 7–0 vote. Trustee Jennifer Hyland recognized and expressed appreciation for a generous gift from the Neuhaus Education Center; the board then approved Item 10H by a 7–0 vote. The consent agenda also included contract actions such as Change Order #001 for the Sherwood Elementary replacement project, a Guaranteed Maximum Price for Northbrook High School CTE renovations, and emergency use generators for Buffalo Creek and Cedar Brook elementary schools.
