Councilmember (speaker 3) moved to honor Mayor Harvey's request for a flat monthly compensation of $600 in lieu of submitting a timesheet; the motion included preserving the mayor's part‑time benefits. Councilmember 4 seconded the motion, and Mayor Harvey acknowledged the arrangement. "I'd like to follow a motion that we honor mayor Harvey's request...that we do have a flat fee compensation rate and to include in that flat fee his ability to continue to earn his benefits," the mover said. The council voiced support and the motion passed after an affirmative voice vote; no individual roll call tally was recorded in the transcript.
Separately, staff and council discussed the May 20, 2025 city election filing period. The mayor and other councilmembers confirmed application procedures: candidate packets should be posted and applications accepted from Jan. 15 through Feb. 14 (due by 5 p.m. Feb. 14). The council discussed logistics for accepting filings at city hall and tools—Secretary of State forms and TML materials—to assist applicants. Three seats (Places 1, 4 and 5) are up for election.
