Committee weighs procurement rules and possible town costs as Ferry Landing budget is developed

Members noted town procurement rules require a request for proposals when a job exceeds $20,000 and discussed how the application budget should reflect realistic contractor pricing and possible long-term maintenance costs.
"If the town goes out, the town has a job that costs exceeds $20,000 we have to do a request for proposal," Chair Greg said. Fred asked whether a referenced $150,000 would be enough to complete work on roughly 0.75 acres; Eric said contractors and on-site assessments will determine actual cost and that fencing and goats would be additional items to price. Greg said the grant is attractive because it targets smaller towns and does not require a town match for covered activities, but noted water access/costs may not be covered.
The commission instructed staff to solicit contractor estimates and to return with a budget and feasibility report before committing to full project implementation.
