The Temple Independent School District Board of Trustees approved Superintendent Bobby Ott's annual performance appraisal at its Feb. 9 regular meeting. Trustee Ronnie Gaines moved to approve the superintendent's yearly appraisal, and (per the minutes) Shannon Dean seconded; the board recorded the motion as carrying unanimously, 7-0.
The vote was recorded in the minutes as taken during the Board President's report. Board President Dan Posey confirmed a quorum at 6:00 p.m. and noted the meeting had been posted under the Texas Open Meetings Act (Texas Government Code Chapter 551). The minutes list all seven trustees as voting in favor: Dan Posey; Ronnie Gaines; Virginia Suarez; Shannon Gowan; Shannon Myers; Dawn Cook; and Bre'Layshia Alexander. "The motion carried unanimously 7-0," the minutes state.
The board did not record additional conditions or follow-up steps tied to the appraisal in the minutes. The board will next meet for committee work in late February, including a board retreat and campus visits scheduled for Feb. 19, according to the superintendent's announcements in the meeting.
