The Taft ISD Board of Trustees voted to authorize the superintendent, or a designee, to negotiate and sign a contract for four new tennis courts including fencing, lighting, and sidewalks through an approved purchasing cooperative. Trustee Nicole Garza made the motion and Trustee Miranda Benedict seconded; the motion "Passed" on a 6–0 vote with Trustee Greg Benedict absent.
The board discussion noted the district will use an approved purchasing cooperative (BuyBoard/CourTex was referenced in the agenda language) to select a contractor. Trustees were told further details on bids and contract execution would follow as the purchasing process proceeds.
