Director outlines back-to-school preparations and preschool enrollment at North Newton

The Director (speaker S3) told the North Newton School Corporation board that "Summer is rapidly coming to a close" and that principals and office staff are returning as the district prepares for the 2026–27 school year. The director said several facility improvements are underway at the junior–senior high and other buildings and that a fuller administrative report will be given at the board's August 5 meeting.
The director said the district distributed flyers about enrollment and new initiatives to every Newton County household and to mail routes in adjacent counties to boost awareness. On preschool, the director reported, "We have 14 students enrolled in developmental preschool, 12 students currently enrolled before in-person enrollment starts at the fee based preschool" and said the board's preschool task force will return recommendations at the next meeting. The board did not take formal action beyond scheduling continued updates.
