Union Grove ISD trustees move to closed session to interview superintendent applicants

"Motion was made by Tim Turner and seconded by Tim Bower that the board adjourn to closed session at 5:07 p.m. All voted YES, Motion carried," the minutes state. The board invoked Texas Government Code §551.074, the law authorizing closed deliberations on personnel matters, for the interviews. The minutes note that any votes, actions or decisions would be taken in open session.
The minutes record no public comment requests during the meeting and state that no action was reported following the closed session. A motion to adjourn was later made by Trustee Tim Turner, seconded by Trustee Tim Bower, and the board again voted unanimously to close the meeting.
The meeting began at 5:00 p.m. and took place in the high school library. The district did not record any appointments, votes on hiring, or other open-session decisions in the published minutes for this special meeting.
