The Valley Mills ISD Board of Trustees approved final amendments to the 2024–25 operating budget at its Aug. 26 meeting to address short-term deficits and reallocate savings. Finance officer Brenda Byrom told the board that the cafeteria operated at a deficit after equipment purchases and repairs, but a surplus in the cafeteria fund balance would cover the costs; $50,000 was identified for reallocation, with $25,000 proposed for Junior High/High School food service and $25,000 for Elementary food service.
Byrom detailed staffing and other adjustments: High School teacher salary funds were increased by $33,000, Junior High teacher salary funds by $5,000, Elementary support staff salary funds by $5,000, and Administrative support salary funds by $4,500; an additional $2,000 was allocated to JJAEP services. To offset increases, the vehicle fund was reduced by $40,000 and contracted vehicle maintenance by $9,500. Trustees voted 7–0 to approve the amendments.
