The special meeting began at 5:00 p.m. in the high school library with President Jody Day calling the meeting to order and leading the Board in prayer. The minutes list seven trustees as present and note that Superintendent Brian Gray and Superintendent's Secretary Terri Woodfin were also in attendance. The Board cited Texas Government Code Section 551.074, the Open Meetings Act provision that allows a public body to meet in closed session for personnel matters, as the basis for the executive session. The minutes record that no formal votes, actions, or decisions were taken in closed session and that any votes would be taken in open session.
