North Caldwell approves professional services contracts and grant resolution; mayor says Tax Appeals Counsel RFQ still open

The Borough approved several consent resolutions covering appointments, stormwater services and grant participation.
Resolutions approved on the consent agenda included R-35-2026 appointing Jarrid Kantor, Esq. of Antonelli Kantor Rivera as Borough Attorney; R-36-2026 appointing Antonelli Kantor Rivera for labor counsel; R-28-2026 awarding stormwater management services to New Restoration and Recovery LLC dba Aqualis; R-37-2026 authorizing tax lien redemption for Block 1105, Lot 1; and R-39-2026 approving participation in the Governor's Council on Substance Use Disorder fiscal grant cycle July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027. The Council also approved two raffle licenses for the West Essex Cheerleading Booster Club. Mayor Joshua H. Raymond confirmed he had no conflicts with the Trenk, Isabel firm (the sole respondent to the first RFQ for Tax Appeals Counsel) and said a second RFQ process was in progress.
Councilwoman Suzanne Corbo asked that R-38-2026 be pulled from the consent agenda for separate discussion (the Crescent Moon display, later approved). The consent agenda motions carried with six affirmative votes when brought to the floor.
