North Caldwell introduces ordinance to regulate blasting in land-development reviews

Borough Clerk Tami Michelotti requested the addition of codification criteria before the public hearing; Borough Counsel Jarrid Kantor confirmed that the requested addition would not be substantive. A second reading and public hearing was set for Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 6:30 p.m.
Councilman Arthur Rees noted that blasting is infrequent in town but said the Green Brook Country Club property is likely to experience significant blasting prior to development and that the ordinance would be communicated to property owners.
