The Tatum Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously Dec. 8 to approve its consent agenda, including minutes of the Nov. 3, 2025 meeting and acceptance of TASB Policy Update 126. Curt Smith made the motion to approve the consent items as presented; Stephen Skinner seconded the motion and it passed 6-0.
The consent items include a broad set of policy updates listed in the agenda packet as TASB Policy Update 126, which the board recorded as affecting local policies including BE (Local): Board Meetings; BED (Local): Board Meetings – Public Participation; CQB (Local): Technology Resources – Cybersecurity; CQD (Local): Technology Resources – Artificial Intelligence; CLE (Local): Buildings, Grounds, and Equipment Management – Required Displays; and several student welfare and personnel-related local policies. The board took no separate roll-call votes on individual policies; the full package was approved as part of the consent motion. Next steps noted in the meeting record indicate the district will incorporate the TASB-recommended language into local policy documents.
