South Umpqua projects $2.77 million ending fund balance; auditors completed on-site review

Shy Chapman presented the district's revenue and expenditure report through Aug. 27 and said, "The projected ending fund balance for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, is currently $2,773,108." The board heard that auditors were on site Aug. 22 and reviewed 208 expenditures; the single audit will continue remotely and focus on title and food service work to be completed by Dec. 30.
Board members asked for additional detail about grants and contracted services; the business office said it will provide a list of contracted, non-instruction items and further breakdowns by request. Classroom supplies budgeting and textbook adoption items were discussed as areas of year-to-year fluctuation.
