Administrators updated the board on strategic planning progress and recent professional development activities.
Speaker 3 told the board the district is on track with strategic planning and that Gail visited schools on Jan. 6 to gather staff feedback; a draft plan will be presented in February. "She will be presenting to the board the draft of the plan in the February meeting," S3 said. S3 also described a productive Jan. 6 professional development day that offered workshop-style sessions for classified staff and multiple options for teachers focused on literacy and data use.
S3 said the district convened its first equity, diversity and inclusion committee with 10โ11 staff members and plans to bring in students and community members over time. The committee has set initial targets to identify and address gaps in student performance and will tie meeting feedback into the district's strategic planning.
