The Seaside SD 10 School Board held a virtual executive session on Feb. 3, 2025, "to review and evaluate the performance of the superintendent," the board chair said, citing ORS 192.660(2)(i). "The school board will meet in executive session pursuant to ORS 192.660," the chair read aloud before the board moved into closed deliberations.
The chair told participants that representatives of the news media could attend but were "specifically directed not to report on any of the deliberations," and reminded members that "No final decision may be made in executive session." After the closed session, the chair announced the board had concluded its executive session and reopened the regular meeting.
During the open portion that followed, the chair confirmed that board members had received the superintendent evaluation feedback survey results by email. The board did not take any formal votes in public at the conclusion of the executive session; the chair stated the meeting had reconvened in open session and invited waiting-room participants to rejoin.
