Winter academic data: literacy gains in elementary, mixed results in middle-school math, graduation gaps persist

Dr. Collins reviewed STAR reading and math predictive proficiency for middle school and shared that the district's combined graduation rate across four high schools lags the state by about 8 percentage points; he highlighted that students engaged in CTE courses consistently show higher graduation rates and that MEWA's lower graduation rate is a significant factor in the district-wide figure. Board members requested additional follow-up and a future work session to dig deeper into trends and Parent View reporting for STAR scores.
