The Van Alstyne ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously Aug. 29 to approve budget amendment 2025-08, increasing General Fund expenditures by $215,143 to finalize the district’s 2024–25 books.
CFO Renee Chote presented the amendment as part of an end-of-year closing process, noting, "The amendment is for the General Fund for a total increase of expenditures in the amount of $215,143.00." Beau Williams moved to approve the amendment; Matt Morris seconded and the motion passed 7–0.
Board vote tallies recorded each trustee voting yes: B. Schoener, Mark Freeman, Beau Williams, David Kerr, Randall Morgan, Matt Morris and Debbie Nance. The board did not attach additional conditions to the amendment. The item was described as a routine year-end adjustment to complete accruals and close the district’s fiscal year.
