VFW presents Patriot's Pen awards to Stockdale ISD students

Juan Morales and Gary Deskin of VFW Post 8572 presented the Patriot's Pen awards during the Jan. 12 meeting. First-place winner Azzlynn Akin received a $200 check, a Patriot's Pen medallion and a certificate; Hadley Rivera received a certificate, medallion and a gift card as the second-place award.
The board also received appreciation items from students and staff: Pre-K through fifth-grade students made posters and cards, the junior high produced a video posted on the Stockdale ISD Facebook page, and the high school prepared treats for board members. The presentation was recorded in the meeting minutes and no related board action was required.
