Engineer: Riverside Park work near complete; crane set April 8 to install 28-ft wet well for lift station

City Engineer Kent Louwagie updated the council March 26 on Riverside Park and wastewater project details. He said seeding, wood chip and driveway work are nearly complete under the current contract; dewatering wells returned clean samples and weekly sampling will continue while staff lower the water table to install the lift station.
Louwagie said a crane is scheduled to arrive April 8 to install the lift station and that the wet well will be set about 28 feet deep. He recommended creating a checklist with staff to prioritize remaining grant-eligible tasks and to restructure grant budgets to include engineering fees. No contract changes were approved at the meeting; the council was informed of timing and sampling results.
