Trustees approve two hires from executive session to start Feb. 2
Summary
Following an executive session, WRCCISD trustees approved hiring Laura Pevoto as junior high counselor and Brent Johnson as an HVAC/maintenance employee, both positions to begin Feb. 2, 2026.
After convening in executive session, the West Rusk County Consolidated ISD Board took action to employ two candidates announced in open session.
Trustee Matt Eastwood moved to employ Laura Pevoto (Brown) as the junior high counselor beginning Feb. 2, 2026; the motion was seconded by Jeff Mason and passed unanimously with those present. Eastwood also moved to employ Brent Johnson as an HVAC/maintenance employee beginning Feb. 2, 2026; that motion was seconded by Chris Pratt and likewise passed unanimously.
The board did not provide additional public discussion of the hires during open session. Start dates and positions were stated in the public action taken following executive session.
